TEACHING STYLE Vinyasa (Sat 10:30am -12pm)
Whether you are an advanced yogi or beginning yoga, my aspiration is for everyone to have fun as our yogapractice is being expanded!  I value reaching comfort in both challenging positions and meditation. This means hands on personalized attention for each student during the class.
Your instinctual and natural movements that you may or may not be aware of, will be brought to your consciousness, appreciated and developed. The movements will create a flow and up beat tempo from one asana (move) to another, all in conjunction with proper breathing techniques.
My students have a fast learning curve because each yoga movement, breath, meditation and sequence builds and progresses naturally to the next. Learning will be fun, inviting, and rewarding regardless of your skill level. Retention can be the most difficult part of learning anything new, so I encourage everyone to practice on their own! This really helps integrate the moves and allows all the concepts to truly sink in before the next class. Come and see me, let’s experience YOGA together!
Choosing an instructor is a personalized thing…I recommend seeking new experiences. Take many different classes to gather new aspects of yoga that fit you best.

YOGA BIO:

Since childhood, I practiced dance and athletics. I received an athletic scholarship (Track & Field) to the University of Oregon and majored in Psychology. During and after college worked as a counselor and an athletic coach. I felt that I was close to achieving my calling, however something was missing. Three years later I sought a career change and became a professional dancer and fitness instructor. I taught kickboxing, power lifting, and Pilate’s classes. I had never taken or taught yoga up to that point in my life.
Then, one day, I decided to try the yoga class that was scheduled before my power lifting class. I was surprised at how uncomfortable I felt. Yoga seemed too slow and un-stimulating to me, at the time. It wasn’t until I stumbled upon a different instructor who introduced me to a style of Yoga (Vinyasa flow) that worked for me!
I discovered a new world of insight with regard to mind, body and soul. I discovered a deeper connection with myself and I was able to let go and allow the instructor to guide me to places I had never connected with before. Inadvertently I found my calling. I haven’t stopped practicing yoga since that day and have been teaching for the past four years. Yoga allows me to enhance my passion for life! This has transferred into all of my activities, including dance. The benefits that practicing yoga has provided me are immeasurable and I hope that you too can share in all that yoga has to offer.
